Russian gaming company Innova established in Luxembourg
The Minister of the Economy and Foreign Trade, Jeannot Krecké, and the Minister for Communications and Media, François Biltgen, announced the establishment in Luxembourg of Innova at a press conference on December,7.
Innova publishes and distributes a large portfolio of massively multi-player online games, such as Aion, Lineage II, Atlantica Online via its platform "4game".
Innova is now adapting its online games to the needs of European players and takes into account the various European languages . That’s why Innova chose Luxembourg as a country of establishment from where to serve the European market and as a technical platform for hosting its European servers.
Together with the South Korean developer NCsoft, a leading developer of online gaming in South Korea, Innova aims to address the European online games market.
Minister Jeannot Krecké said that "even if the geographical diversification of our promotion was for a long time focused on U.S., efforts to promote Luxembourg in other countries are now beginning to have a positive impact, especially in Russia and South Korea ".
After searching for several years the perfect place to start their European development, Innova not only decided to create a new company in Europe, but to actually locate their operations in Luxembourg.
The CEO of Innova, Gevork Sarkisyan, stated that "Innova has made the right choice. What convinced us was the number of initiatives of the Luxembourg Government, such as the development of the fiber optic networks, the highly secure data centers, combined with the country's beneficial geographical location and the easy access to policy makers. This makes Luxembourg an excellent place for an ICT company. In addition, the presence of ICT world leaders like Skype, PayPal and eBay is not to be underestimated. "
Minister Biltgen welcomed Innova and emphasized the actual dynamism "of the ICT sector in Luxembourg after all the investments that have been made."
Minister Krecké insisted that "it was not only the multicultural component that made Innova come to Luxembourg. The close collaboration between our two departments, our horizontal strategies and joint missions, again paid off. "
