Luxembourg was the 2nd major source of inflow of foreign capital to Istanbul in 2012 according to a study of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO). Out of the total foreign capital inflow (TL 1,431,306,962), 16.42 % (TL 234,953,617 comprising 30 investors) originated in Luxembourg.
Health-education and banking-insurance were the two most attractive sectors for Luxembourgish investors. In the former sector, Luxembourg was the major source country, representing 9.95% (TL 142,478,575) of the foreign capital inflow.
In the latter, it ranked 2nd with a share of 5.21% corresponding to TL 74,499,996.
