ALFI Announces a Total of $3,204 Billion Assets under Management by Luxembourg-based Funds

The Association of the Luxembourg Funds Industry (ALFI) has announced record figures for the Luxembourg fund industry at the end of 2012. Assets under management by Luxembourg-domiciled funds reached a historic level of $3,204 billion (€2,383 billion) under management, an increase of 13.70% over 2011.

With 3,841 investment funds and 13,420 fund units, Luxembourg remains the largest investment fund centre in Europe, followed by France, and the second largest investment fund centre in the world after the U.S.

“Assets under management have not only grown in Luxembourg but in Europe as a whole, partly due to increasing market values, but also thanks to significant new inflows into investment funds,” said Marc Saluzzi, Chairman of ALFI. “We are pleased with this return of confidence in investment funds.”
